About RUFF
Located in Estrella Mountain Ranch of Goodyear, AZ, through RUFF coordination of volunteers, lost dogs are found and stray animals are brought to a safe space to decompress, receive needed medical care, rehabilitated, and found loving homes.
Our mission is to provide a swift rescue with rehabilitation, when possible, for lost and abandoned animals.
RUFF (Rescuing Unfortunate Furry Friends) was founded in 2022 by three community members who recognized the need for a local organization dedicated to helping lost or abandoned animals in need.
Often RUFF is able to rescue local pets and return to their homes. RUFF heavily encourages the use of micro chips and urges all pet families to update their pet micro chips regularly.
Each pet is brought to a veterinarian for an exam, testing, vaccinations, and treatment for any health issues found. Spay/neuter are scheduled when the pet is settled into a foster environment.
RUFF offers a variety of programs to provide helpful ideas to keep our pets safe, healthy and loved in our homes as part of our families.
Alongside rescue, RUFF provides education to local residents through monthly volunteer meetings. We strive to provide an expert speaker to enrich the involvement of our local community. A robust network improves the chances of recovering animals before they come to harm.
RUFF is proud to be a member of the PACC911 family. PACC911 brings together the many animal welfare organizations throughout Arizona, most in Maricopa County, by uniting them and offering opportunities to work together for the greater benefit of the animals.

Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. We offer many opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved and make a difference in the lives of local animals.
Our volunteer teams include outreach, rescue, foster, adoption, and fundraising. RUFF encourages volunteers to choose an area to highlight their talents as well as benefit the RUFF mission.
